With simply no nutritional value at all, refined sugar is known in nutritionist circles as a ‘leach’ as it not only has no nutritional value, but it saps the vitamins and nutrients from your body in order to process it. So, it may be hard, but you need to remove it from your daily coffee, tomato sauce and start making things from scratch, without sugar. It has been linked in recent research to cancer, so it’s time to move it out of your diet.

Sitting down to watch the game, pop open a packet of potato chips and open a soda pop. Hang on, we have already spoken about Soda Pop – not the chips as well. Acrylamide, a chemical that is activated once potatoes are cooked at extreme temperatures – such as those you need to make our favorite salty snack – is found in plastic & paper manufacturing. Also, it has been proven to give cancer to rodents, so are you willing to risk it?

Since French fries are potatoes and cooking potatoes in high temps activate acrylamide (remember potato chips?), this makes French fries a hazard. It doesn’t stop there. Potatoes are on the Dirty Dozen list of fruits and veggies with because of the high quantity of pesticides they retain. Then there’s the obvious danger: frying. But that’s more a heart-related risk than a cancer risk. So, whew. Go organic and save yourself a lot of potential health problems.
