1. Excessive Thirst

Are you thirsty all the time, despite having just had some water, or not exerted any physical effort? When glucose levels in the blood are high, it means the water you have in your blood is absorbed out, making you thirsty. This can be picked up with headaches, nausea, fainting, dizziness, organ failure even death if diabetes goes unnoticed or untreated.

If you go to the bathroom to pee more than 7 times today – and you haven’t been drinking a lot of extra H2o or fluids for any reason – then you should have alarm bells. When increase glucose in the blood doesn’t happen, you may have a build up in the bloodstream, forcing the kidneys to work harder & dispel the excess – thus forcing you to urinate.

3. Fatigue

If you find yourself getting up every night – even once – to go to the bathroom, every night so it is affecting your fatigue levels when it is time to get up, this again could be the same as point 2. In addition, the glucose in your blood may not be giving enough energy ut, as there insulin levels are too low. So, if you are unusually tired, peeing a lot and thirsty all the time, maybe it is time to get a simple blood test.

Are you always hungry? Feeling like you need something and fast? As your blood sugar rises and falls it requires your body to crave glucose, even after you have just eaten. Watch this, as you could be over eating as well as putting pressure on other organs!

5. Dry Mouth

Just like heading to the bathroom far too often, if you a dehydrated, and feel like you have the ‘drys’ all the time – not just after a night of heaving drinking – then this could e a symptom. As the body is depleted of its fluid, it uses any and all water it can find in the body to create urine.

6. Itchy Skin

Again, this is due to the water being literally drained from your body. If you have itchy skin and a dry mouth, then you could be on the way to diabetes.

7. Blurred Vision

Swelling in the eye is caused by a glucose builds up in the eye during the early stages of diabetes. It will go away after about 6-8 weeks depending on the person, however, you should notice this as a symptom and see a doctor for a test as soon as possible.
